Inspired by Slavic mythology and created in honor of the God Veles, this piece is truly unique and one of a kind. The materials were carefully hand-picked for both, quality and appropriateness. Special effects fluid was used to create the frost effect under the clear epoxy resin, and genuine rabbit fur and coyote teeth were used to further enhance and embellish the 12" wood cradle holding a little over 35 oz of professional epoxy resin shaped to resemble a full moon in a winter sky. The two wolves and the modern symbol of Veles inside the heart at the top, were created using a color-shifting vinyl that changes into a range of reds, silver, greens, and blues.
Veles is the Slavic God of forests, livestock, and the Underworld. In southern Slav tradition ( into which I was born) Veles is known as the Lord of the forest, and there he’s a wolf god, Lord of all wolves. Aside from shifting into a wolf, he is also known to favor shifting into a bear, snake, and a Dragon. He is a powerful warrior God who fiercely defends and protects his domain and his people.
